Groot (BigFig) is a fictional extraterrestrial, tree-like being appearing in Marvel Comics. He is a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Originating from Planet X, Groot is a Flora colossus, possessing immense strength and durability due to his wood-like composition. He is also capable of absorbing wood and regenerating.

Initially portrayed as a monstrous invader, Groot's character evolved into a heroic and loyal protector. He sacrifices himself to save his teammates in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film, resulting in the birth of Baby Groot.
